New Website - FidoQuest.com - brings hundreds of puppies under one WOOF

(MISSISSAUGA, ON) March 14, 2001 -- Ontario families looking for a new puppy will now find the process quicker and simpler thanks to FidoQuest.com – a new, one-stop, on-line classified service that brings hundreds of Ontario purebred dog breeders under one roof.

The new service provides an added distribution resource for breeders who usually turn to local daily and weekly newspapers and other print sources to advertise their litters.

John Colliston, one of the site's founders, stresses FidoQuest receives no payment from shoppers. Instead, those looking for a puppy must contact the breeder directly, once they've settled on a dog. While the service is free to the public, breeders are required to pay a fee to have their litters listed.

"FidoQuest.com is purely an on-line directory aimed a connecting responsible purebred dog breeders with responsible dog buyers," says Mr. Colliston. "By bringing all the existing breeder information under one roof, we hope FidoQuest makes the process of sourcing and purchasing a puppy easier, quicker, and with greater peace of mind."

Initially, FidoQuest will focus its efforts at purebred dog breeders and buyers in Ontario, specifically Southern Ontario.

In addition to the site's "BowserBrowser" section where dogs for sale are listed (complete with photos, breeder history and contact information), FidoQuest.com lists upcoming dog shows in the Southern Ontario area and provides a "do's and don'ts" checklist for potential new owners. FidoQuest.com also offers advice to new dog buyers on how they can avoid buying inadvertently from "puppy mills." The site also contains valuable links to other sites, offering detailed information on specific dog breeds and dog rescue resources.
